It’s all in the flick of the wrist…or the computer mouse for us! Creating great-looking content isn’t as big of a task as it may seem, especially with the right tools readily available.
So we sat down with the supervisor of our Creative Services’ digital artists, Scott Larsen, to get the full scoop on resources out there. Open another tab in your browser to follow the links as you read.
PAID SOFTWARE
We’ll start out with the most common software that you may have already mastered. If your school has room in the budget to purchase software, we have a couple of options to look into:
- Paid Creative Software Training at DigitalTutors.com
- Reasonably priced After Effects templates at videohive.net
FREE SOFTWARE
If your school doesn’t have room in the budget for software, don’t let that stop you. Check out these websites for free tutorials and more.
- Video Editor at openshot.org
- Adobe After Effects Tutorials at Videocopilot.net
- Combine Post Production at hitfilm.com/express
- Compositors at blackmagicdesign.com/products/fusion
- Paint at gimp.org
- Drawing at Inkscape.org
- 3D at blender.org
Now, these aren’t all of the resources out there; these are only a few that we’ve compiled to get you started. Is there other software, paid or free, that you’ve found helpful in creating content for your display? If so, let us know by dropping a comment below!
