The 2017 Football User Group brought together producers and game day operations staff from 10 different NFL teams for a three-day seminar in Brookings, SD, February 28 – March 2.
Those in attendance had the opportunity to hear from Daktronics engineers, product managers, control system specialists and the creative services team.
Attendees shared ideas through peer presentations from each team in addition to special presentations from the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They also engaged in group discussions pertaining to game day challenges, and how Daktronics can improve the overall game day production operation.
Sessions included NFL Next Gen Stats and GSIS Interface as well as integration with out-of-town scores, fantasy stats, and front end video control systems. Daktronics also introduced new products such as the newest Daktronics 6000 video processor series and the newest features to Venus Control Suite. Also featured was a demo of Enhanced Dynamic Content and how teams including the Minnesota Vikings utilize it to better the production.
“I’ve felt like a kid in a candy shop this week,” said Abigail Thelin, Director of Event Production for the New England Patriots. “Getting to see where everything is actually manufactured and meeting everyone from Daktronics has been the best part. This is my first time here, and while I attend league meetings, this seminar is so much more specified. I’ve loved being able to hear from these other teams to see what they are doing to utilize their resources and Daktronics equipment.”
Attendees also had the option to stay an additional day for a trip to Minneapolis and a tour of U.S. Bank Stadium. Those on the tour had the opportunity to see the technology in the control room, Enhanced Dynamic Content in action and the Daktronics displays throughout the new venue.
