Welcome to our tour of the Venus® Control Suite Learning Center! Today I will be your guide, so please follow along and pay attention, and don’t touch anything!

All joking aside, today you will learn about the many benefits of visiting the Venus Control Suite Learning Center and how you can take full advantage of this free resource.

Many of you have probably already heard about the Venus Control Suite Learning Center, and some of you may have even visited it. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, just think of it as a self-guided training website with free videos to  watch and .pdf documents with step-by-step instructions.

Finding the Venus Control Suite Learning Center

The easiest way to find the Venus Control Suite Learning Center is by using our friendly URL. Just open a web browser and type the following web address into the graphical control element address bar, also known as the location bar or URL bar.


You can also find the Venus Control Suite Learning Center by visiting Daktronics.com. On the top of the page, click on Support and another menu will appear.


In that menu, click on Training, which will direct you to all the available training courses and resources. Towards the top of the page, you will see a section called Venus Control Suite for Message Displays Software Training.

Within that section, click the link that says View FREE Online Training Materials. Clicking on that link will take you into the Venus Control Suite Learning Center!


Now that you know how to get to the Venus Control Suite Learning Center, let’s look at how to use it! Several tabs run from left to right across the top of the page. Each of these tabs represents a different section of learning materials.

Click on the tab for the section you want to learn about to access all available training videos and documents. Within each tab, you will see videos on the left side and pdf tutorials on the right side. Simply click on the play button (blue triangle) to watch the videos and the Adobe pdf icon to read the tutorials.


Enter the Venus Control Suite Learning Center to find the introductory page, providing you with useful information. You’ll see the Venus Quick Guide for getting started in the software, direction for your very first login, and how to set up Venus Control Suite as a favicon so it looks and works like an app on your mobile device!



The Dashboard provides visual feedback regarding the schedule and connectivity to your display. It provides thumbnails of what is playing out on your display, as well as showing whether you are connected to your display or not.

The Dashboard section in the Venus Control Suite Learning Center provides you with useful videos. They show you how to navigate through the different features of the Dashboard, as well as how to find help within Venus Control Suite.


Media Library

The Media Library is the central storage location for all the content you create and upload to Venus Control Suite. You can also find filters and tags within the Media Library to help you sort and organize your content.

The Media Library section includes videos that show you how to use the Media Library and how to tag and organize your content. Also, several documents give you step-by-step instructions, such as how to upload media and create amazing content!

Web Compositor

The Web Compositor is a content editor you can use to create content on any internet- enabled computer, tablet, or mobile device. It is very easy to use and allows you to create content when you’re on the go or even from the comfort of your own home!

The Web Compositor section in the Venus Control Suite Learning Center has videos and tutorials. We’ll walk you through all the different bells and whistles available in the Web Compositor. It also shows you how to create high-quality presentations for your display using the Web Compositor.

Content Studio

Content Studio is an additional content editor that you can download for free onto a Windows-based computer. It has a few more options than the Web Compositor does when it comes to creating content, but cannot be used on mobile devices.

By clicking on the Content Studio section of the Venus Control Suite Learning Center, you can find out more about the different tools it offers and how to use them. This section has the most tutorials by far, so we recommend spending some time here to really grasp all that Content Studio has to offer.

Once you have created and/or uploaded your content into the Media Library, you will need to schedule it within a Playlist to play it on your display. Scheduling your content correctly is crucial to your success as a display owner.

Scheduling can be a little tricky when you’re first getting started in your software, but Venus Control Suite is very user friendly, which helps! You know what else helps?  Watching the video and reading the tutorial in the Scheduling section of the Venus Control Suite Learning Center!

The final tab or section within the Venus Control Suite Learning Center is called More Info. This page provides you with a video, as well as tutorials, that show you how to find the Venus Control Suite Operational Manual and other helpful resources within Venus Control Suite.

Trainer Tip: Did you know that at the bottom of each section in the Venus Learning Center, you will find a Contact A Trainer button? Click it to reach out directly to the Software Training group here at Daktronics. This is a great resource if you can’t find the answers you’re looking for within the Venus Control Suite Learning Center itself.
