Up until just a few years ago, speed of pitch data for baseball was fairly simple. The data included miles/kilometers per hour, pitch and strike out counts. Some venues dedicated personnel to capture pitch types for display use. Today, new pitch and hit interfaces allow MLB, MiLB and now NCAA teams to expand beyond just the speed of pitch.

Don’t miss your first pitch!  These new data options require time and planning to set up and test. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you prepare for the upcoming season.

  • These pitch and hit data providers require teams to  license their technology for use in stadiums.
  • Your regional applications engineer can help answer questions about the required setup for display use.
  • Content will need to be created or edited to show the new data for your fans to enjoy.

Check out the resources below for more on the pitch and hit interface options.
