Take a tour of the revamped Venus Control Suite Learning Center.

Just over a year ago we blogged about how to navigate through the Venus Control Suite Learning Center. We recently made a few changes to it to make it easier for you to navigate. With the new layout, you will learn about Venus Control Suite much more efficiently and find what you are looking for almost effortlessly. Once again, I will be your guide as we take a tour of the all new Venus Control Suite Learning Center.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Venus Control Suite Learning Center, just think of it as a self-guided training website with free videos to watch and .pdf documents with step-by-step instructions. Today you will learn about the many benefits of visiting the Venus Control Suite Learning Center and how you can take full advantage of this free resource. Let’s go!

Finding the Venus Control Suite Learning Center

The easiest way to find the Venus Control Suite Learning Center is by using our friendly URL. Just open a web browser and type the following web address into the graphical control element address bar, also known as the location bar or URL bar.


You can also find the Venus Control Suite Learning Center by visiting Daktronics.com. On the top of the page, click on Support and another menu will appear.


In that menu, click on Training, which will direct you to all the available training courses and resources. Towards the top of the page, you will see a section called Venus Control Suite for Message Displays Software Training.

Within that section, click the link that says View FREE Online Training Materials. Clicking on that link will take you into the Venus Control Suite Learning Center!


Now that you know how to get to the Venus Control Suite Learning Center, let’s look at how to use it!

Enter the Venus Control Suite Learning Center to find the Getting Started Menu, providing you with useful information. You’ll learn about the Dashboard, find directions for your very first login, and learn how to set up Venus Control Suite as a favicon so it looks and works like an app on your mobile device!

Creating and Organizing Content

The Media Library is the central storage location for all the content you create and upload to Venus Control Suite. You can also find filters and tags within the Media Library to help you sort and organize your content.

This section includes videos that show you how to use the Media Library and how to tag and organize your content. Also, several documents give you step-by-step instructions, such as how to upload media and create amazing content!

Web Presentations

The Web Compositor is a content editor you can use to create content on any internet- enabled computer, tablet, or mobile device. It is very easy to use and allows you to create content when you’re on the go or even from the comfort of your own home!

The Web Presentations section in the Venus Control Suite Learning Center has videos and tutorials. We’ll walk you through all the different bells and whistles available in the Web Compositor. It also shows you how to create high-quality presentations for your display using the Web Compositor.

Content Studio

Content Studio is an additional content editor that you can download for free onto a Windows-based computer. It has a few more options than the Web Compositor does when it comes to creating content, but cannot be used on mobile devices.

By clicking on the Content Studio section of the Venus Control Suite Learning Center, you can learn more about the different tools it offers and how to use them. This section has the most tutorials by far, so we recommend spending some time here to really grasp all that Content Studio has to offer.

Scheduling Content

Once you have created and/or uploaded your content into the Media Library, you will need to schedule it within a Playlist to play it on your display. Scheduling your content correctly is crucial to your success as a display owner.

Scheduling can be a little tricky when you’re first getting started in your software, but Venus Control Suite is very user friendly, which helps! You know what else helps?  Watching the video and reading the tutorial in the Scheduling Content section of the Venus Control Suite Learning Center!

Third Party Advertising (Out of Home)

This is a brand-new section we added to the Venus Learning Center for our OOH users. This section will support Venus Control Suite Pro Ad Grid users. The videos and worksheets will show you how to associate advertisers’ content and playlists to your display using the Sales Ad Grid. Learn how to use this feature to maximize revenue when selling time on your display.

Another brand-new section for all our Venus Control Suite users is our Reporting section. Venus Control Suite allows users to run Proof of Play reports. These videos and worksheets will help you learn how to run a Proof of Play Report that can be exported for internal or external use. Proof of Play Reports are designed to provide detailed playlist exposure, run time, and duration.



At the bottom of the page you will find a link to the Venus Control Suite Support page where you can find the operational manual and quick guide.

You will also be able to learn more about the training options we offer in addition to the Learning Center.


As you can see, Daktronics offers a plethora of training options! We do this because we want you to be successful with your new display!!
