Get a Bird’s Eye View
Webcams are a great way to view the health of the visual aspects of your display. Here are a couple of “need to know” items when it comes to webcams.

Many of our Out of Home customers enjoy the convenience of a webcam. When your display is blocks, miles or even states away, a webcam may be your only way to view the display. Venus Control Suite provides a couple of different views of your webcam, and we’re going to show you how to access them.
So, how does all this work? From the Dashboard in Venus Control Suite, beneath each display are three icons. Clicking the camera icon gives you a bird’s eye view of the display.
If this view is too small for you, and you really want to zoom in, check this out!
Note: You must be an Administrator in the Venus account to perform this next step. On the left side menu bar, click on displays. Next, click on the display you want to view. In the display window, click on Webcam in the menu box. This opens another view of the webcam that is larger than the Dashboard view.
What? Want it larger yet?
First off, make sure you are using Google Chrome for your browser. What we are going to do next is to change the browser view. Do this by going to the top, right corner in Chrome to the row of three vertical dots. When you click on that, a menu will expand. Maneuver your mouse to the Zoom section and start increasing your view until it’s where you want it. Easy-peasy!

- While the view from the webcam gives you a “live” view, the camera itself only updates the view based on your image duration set while configuring the display. For most sites, this may be 8 or 10 seconds. Because of this, we do not recommend using the webcam as verification of the content that is playing.
- The intent of the webcam isn’t to keep the page open and continually view the web cam. Viewing a webcam does use data. If your ISP limits the amount of data you use, doing so could cause overages or additional charges.
