All major hostilities of World War I formally ended when the Armistice with Germany went into effect on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. The anniversary of that day was celebrated as Armistice Day in the United States annually until 1954 when it became known as Veterans Day.

Like most of you, I too have family members and friends who have served in the military. Their sacrifice for our freedom is honorable and deserves the utmost respect. This is why we raise the American flag and let it fly high on this special day. For those of you who don’t have a flag, do not worry! You can still pay respect to our veterans today. With an LED display, you have all kinds of ways to show your support!

You can create a message for any occasion, including Veterans Day! Check out the example message we created below.  Something like this would be appreciated by so very many people.

A lot of places also offer specials for days like this. For example, many restaurants offer free or discounted meals to military veterans for Veterans Day.

As always, don’t forget about the Daktronics Media Kit! If you click on the Daktronics Library dropdown and choose to categorize by Holidays, then you will find several patriotic-themed images and videos that you can use today, including Old Glory itself, the American flag. Publish with pride, my fellow Americans.
